Our next selection is the completion of one of the most epic stories of the commonwealth series of scifi books written by the master author Peter Hamilton. In this exciting trilogy, his just released third and final book concludes at last the story of the human migration to the void, a black hole in the center of the galaxy. The fear that the migration will cause the void to expand rapidly thereby consuming the rest of the galaxy makes the rest of the species of the galaxy put together a fleet bent on genocide in order to stop the human migration. Really fascinating stuff by a grand master of scifi, something you don't see every day anymore.

Our third selection is a fun little fantasy piece about a unseen world discovered by a lonely, and fatherless teenage girl. She lost her father, then her step father, now she is sent to a relative in Maine to 'be safe'. She thinks it is just her mother being overprotective and unable to cope with her daughter after all that has happened, but it turns out to be more. Her father and stepfather maybe didn't die for no reason, and that reason may be explained by the fact that a man is seen over and over watching her, a man trailing gold glitter. Pixies it turns out are real, but they aren't the delightful pixies a Walt Disney might imagine, these are more the nature of something the original brothers Grimm might have told about.

Our fouth selection this week is a collection that my posting of Earth Abides a while back inspired me to put together, truthfully, that book should be put into this collection too. This is twenty of the best of the Post-Apocalypse books ever written. An apocalypse can come from many causes, but all result in the end of most of humanity, but the survival of just enough, even just an Adam and Eve that can restart the telling of mankinds tale in the universe. These are the best of the genre, with some of the greatest writers ever to put pen to paper. Enjoy these tales of the death of billions as others have too.

Our last selection for the first week of September is a body of work by a great suspense and mystery writer who has written some of the best in the genre. These books are taught mysteries with thrilling suspense and violent psychodrama written into a page-turning mix of excitement and wonder. The stories are fascinating in their crime descriptions, their twisting plots and clues, and their sudden action moments. So take some time to read one of these great books and see why they are stellar examples of one of the most popular genre's.

Ok, let's see, the Chan stuff is really impressive work, it is must-read. The Hamiltion is epic scifi, can't miss that either. Carrie Jones is a relatively new writer, and these books show fantastic potential. The Post-Apocalypse collection, well, why is it that descriptions of the death of large enough numbers of us are always so fascinating? Finally the Willson books are each and every one a great work. 'Nuff said!
