Gordon R Dickson wrote many great scifi novels, but none lifted my heart, stimulated my senses, and instilled the sense of wonder that 'Tactics of Mistake' did. It was just another Dorsai novel to most, and when I read it as a little girl, it was one of three in an omnibus release called simply, 'Three to Dorsai!' But it was this novel that grabbed that little girls fascination, and it was this book that made me love scifi. This was the one, and it still does it when I re-read it today. So here it is, one of my ten favorite scifi books of all time.
